Fellow Rotarian and Salvation Army Officer Van Young was our speaker. All the officers of the Salvation Army are ordained ministers. Salvation Army has three components. Work Therapy, Counseling/Education and Spiritual Awareness. There is a 6 Months Residential Program for men to combat addiction. The program is free.

Dr. Leonard Hansen Emergency Food Bank, or speaker this week, shared a picture of a warehouse filled with food items. He said at the Emergency Food Bank, they are trying to expand to store more food. Community has been generous in their donations. USDA and local grocery stores have been also making generous donations.

This week’s speaker was FBI Supervisor Special Agent Christopher McKinney has had an active carrier with the FBI since 2010. Chris said in the central valley 90 percent of cases that they deal with are of criminal enterprises involving drugs and gangs. The FBI is paying a lot of attention to cases dealing with Cyber Crimes.

SRE Chair Paul Kozlow presented a check for $10,000 from the SRE Raven Fund to Maria Thompkins, Executive Director of the Delta Humane Society. Funds in the Raven Fund are earmarked for the Delta Humane Society as long as it remains a no-kill shelter. The shelter is working so hard with new management and new board members to get animals the medical care they need and placed in forever homes
