“The Rotary Club of Stockton Begins the 2nd Century of Service to the Stockton Community”


Activities

  • Call to Order and Welcome!  President Colleen Stewart called the meeting to order.

    Welcome to our members and their guests to a year of Service Above Self. “Imagine” is our mantra this year, and with your help we can be as successful this year as we have been in the past. Rotary Club of Stockton was formed in 1914 just the 92nd club worldwide. With over 1.4 million Rotarians worldwide.   Rotary International was formed by Paul Harris in Chicago in 1905. Stockton Rotary celebrated our 108 Anniversary just in February. We have a rich history in Stockton.


    Meetings are brought to you live at the Stockton Golf and Country Club.

  • Special Thanks to –  A round of applause for all the Worker Bees of Rotary Stockton. We appreciate you and all your time and effort. There are many that are the core of our organization that go unnoticed but not unappreciated. Thanks to everyone that assists us in all we do. I need to thank the set-up team, Sergeant at arms, Ken Steele, Monie Ky.  Matt, our Secretary for all his behind the scene work as well as Louie Lemos, Treasurer. And we can’t forget Sharon for always bringing a book. Finally, the speaker committee for getting interesting speakers lined up for us to hear. Leena Mittal for The Wheel and Eddie Arias- Public Image Chair Instagram now and facebook videos of meetings are being posted.
  • Concern Report – Our long serving Rotarian, Steve Morales is in San Francisco Hospital recovering from a liver transplant and is doing well and sent a word of encouragement to those with health issues and would probably like texts and prayers and well wishes for him
    Former Rotarian, Kory Ley has had some huge flooding issues at her orchard on Dillard Road in Sacramento. Her entire orchard is flooded, and it was a levy breach of a private farmer, so they don’t have a fix and the next round is about to begin. Please pray and send her our best and I will keep you informed and let you know if she needs anything.

Rotary News

District Mid Year Assembly – February 4th at Mary Ann Sanders Elementary with DG Chris Daly & Waqar Rizvi and cost is $30 and is from 8:30 to noon except for new PE who has to stay until 3 and pay $45. Let’s all support Waqar and you can find the link on DacDB to register

Rotary Read-In: Thursday February 23 at 10 and this is the 32nd annual Rotary Read-In, please sign up soon to participate in this event.
Stockton All City Rotary

Drive by Crabfeed – March 11th and this is a fundraiser for us and cost is $75 and you will be able to drive by from 4-6 and pick up your crab package from the office in the Fountains in Brookside

International Projects: Marcella Gracewski announced that we have a few members of our club going to El Salvador to bring wheelchairs.
Susan B Anthony Winner Kathy Hart – She is being honored on Wednesday February 15th at 6 at Stockton Hilton and cost is $60 and I would love to put a table or two together to support and honor her

LEE NEVES

PRESIDENT/CEO STOCKTON CARGO SOCCER CLUB

A Graduate of the University of the Pacific and the McGeorge School of Law-University of the Pacific, Lee owns CrossCurrentsLLC, and is a nationally recognized Political Consultant and is an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at his Alma Mater. The son of Portuguese Immigrants, his first exposure to Soccer was watching Argentina v Cameroon in the 1990 World Cup, he’s been hooked ever since.
On Saturday’s, you can find Lee either professing his love for Leeds United or Tottenham Hotspur, or at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium cheering on his Florida Gators.
