Program

Program: County Superintendent of Schools: Dr. Troy Brown
Introduced By: Michael Blower

Dr. Brown had been to the Club last year, so he wanted to focus on explaining the TEACH program and Venture military academy programs. He introduced Meagan Johnson who explained the TEACH program and gave her two students (Italia and Archura) an opportunity to explain how they expect to be teachers someday. Each did a great job in speaking before the Club membership. Archura mentioned her love for history and playing basketball, and how an athletic teaching program may be in her future. Italia loved working with the fourth graders and say herself teaching at that level.
Troy A. BrownMatthew Preece introduced Tipfoyer (formerly Edison High) and Foster (formally of Oakland). He explained how they have gone voluntarily from  flunkies to excelling at school academics. Each explained how they can now see a future for them following school. As part of this program, each student provides 40-hours of community service (like Rotary projects).

Dr. Allison, Tony Motta, and Kevin asked questions for the speakers. The students especially responded how pleased they were to be part of the programs in which they participated. The Club expressed their appreciation for the speakers and asked them to continue their great efforts.
