Speaker: Ngozi Elobuike

Ngozi Elobuike, was raised in Stockon. She attended Bear Creek High School. She is a Nigerian natively. She did her Bachelors from Howard University with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry. At Howard, she co-founded Global Med and the Howard Harbor Metastatic breast cancer campus ambassador project. She was one of the two very prominent, well qualified rotary international scholars identified by our district a couple of years ago. Both were accepted and were funded by the Foundation. Back in Stockton, she is doing a fellowship course Teaching and organizing leadership academy and learning to become a community activist.
Ngozi Elobuike Rotary Scholar
Life in full Color Ngozi Ngiozi is born and brought up in California. She started her presentation by giving her family’s background and the life in Nigeria. On her trip to Nigeria with her parents, she quickly realized the importance of health care system and how her extended family for dealing with health issues in the absence of proper health care. She expressed gratitude towards Rotary foundation and explained how Rotary had a great role in transforming her life. Through the help of Rotary North Club of Stockton, and Rtn. Jim Digoni introduced her to the scholar program which enabled her to pursue her global learning. Neil and Doreen Beeton at the Newport club, London helped in transitioning her. To become a global scholar, she picked up emotional intelligence, empath and diversity into story telling. She studied at University College London to do the Masters in Global Health and Development which coincidently happened to be around the same time when the world was hot by global pandemic of COVID-19. She got to travel various countries in Europe and gaining skills. Here in Stockton, she is training to be a community organizer at TOLA organizing Academy.
Brad Howard is a charter member of the Rotary Club of Oakland Uptown and past district governor of the district serving California’s Silicon Valley. He was a Rotary International director from 2015-2017 and served 10 years as the coordinator for End Polio Now. He has led 25 groups of Rotarians — more than 1,000 people — to participate in polio international immunization days in West Africa and India. Howard is a graduate of UC Berkeley, a past board member of the Cal Alumni Association and a trustee of the University of California, Berkeley, Foundation. He is a recipient of the Rotary Foundation’s Distinguished Service Award, Rotary’s Service Above Self Award and International Service Award for a Polio Free World.
