Call to Order and Welcome! President Gary Frush welcomed members and guests to the Virtual Rotary Club of Stockton meeting!
Pledge of Allegiance & Four Way Test – Steve Morales.
Thought for the Day – Chris Lema presented the Thought of the Day and he used the Shared screen to illustrate the need to utilize Rotary’s “The Four-Way Test” of the things we think, say and do. In the current state of our world, this is a great reminder of our pledge to be better people in the world.
Special Thanks Today to – Matt Grizzle for orchestrating these meetings, Dudley Drake for his work on speaker recruitment, Colleen Stewart for taking notes and Eric Duran’s role of keeping The Wheel rolling.
Rotary News – President Gary Frush Gary shared the RI President Holger Knaack’s words from the August Rotarian which emphasized looking at growing Rotary in a sustainable way. Times and conditions are changing, and we need to adapt accordingly and be more flexible and less about rules and attending meetings and more how we can join together and do good in the world.
Rotary Direct – Gary advised that after last weeks meeting and Ellen Hancock’s presentation on Rotary Foundation we had 6 members sign up for the program (Waqar Rizvi, Linda Guinn, Ron Allison, Kathy Hart, Ann Johnston, Gary Frush). He thanked those members for signing up and is looking for more of our members to sign up. It is not about the amount that you contribute but that you participate and contribute on a regular basis that works for you and do good in the world and at home.

Guest Speaker
Speaker: County Supervisor Tom Patti Introduced By: Dudley Drake
Tom Patti, The Actor
Tom spent 15 years in the entertainment business as an actor, writer, and director. He was involved in theatre releases on television, movies and live theatre mostly in New York. He attended acting school with the famous acting coach, Lee Strasberg who taught method acting. This is the school of thought about tapping into your emotions. Also he spoke of the other acting method known as sense memory in group theatre. He states that acting is about being truthful under imaginary circumstances. Acting is putting life to words and it requires truthfulness and meaning.
He shared examples of acting using the same lines but with completely different results and emotions. He changed into another character before our eyes and it was a completely different take on the same lines but appeared entirely different.
Thanks Tom for sharing this side of your life and your life experiences.
