Guest Speaker

Speaker: Carol Pandak
Introduced By: Dr. Joe Serra
Carol, director of PolioPlus, Rotary’s global effort to eradicate polio, shared with us that Rotary has devoted over the years 2 billion dollars to develop infrastructure to help eradicate polio and other diseases.  This infrastructure has been applied to help support efforts to help conquer the Covid-19 virus.  Although we are pausing Polio vaccinations at this time, Rotary is using coordination of outbreak response teams, educating communities about prevention, investigating cases, training health workers and tracing contacts to help stop the spread of Covid-19.  Other ways include support in resource centers, food rations, and personal protection equipment.  For more information contact Carol at carol.panak@rotary.org
