Due to the recent concerns about the COVID-19 virus and a desire to follow the suggestions of health care professionals, the club will be having virtual meetings until further notice.

May 6th Virtual Meeting had at one point 72 Attendees!

Activities

• Call to Order and Welcome! President Melanie welcomed members and guests to the Virtual Rotary Club of Stockton meeting!
  
• Pledge of Allegiance & Four Way Test – Kristina Knudsen.
• Thought for the Day – Past-President Gary Putnam spoke of the importance of reaching out to others and checking in on those we may not have had contact with recently during this time of isolation.  Even though the last few weeks have felt like an eternity, life passes quickly and you find yourself viewing it in the rear-view mirror.
• Virtual Head Table – Our speaker today, Dr. Maggie Park, Public Health Officer with San Joaquin County Public Health Services; Matthew Grizzle, Zoom guru and President Melanie.
• Special Thanks Today to – Matt Grizzle for orchestrating these meetings and Chad Sublet for his work on speaker recruitment.
• Paul Harris Presentation – Lynndee Riley to Tyler Moran.  Lynndee Riley celebrated Foster Parent Appreciation month by presenting her son-in-law, Tyler Moran, with a Paul Harris Fellow.  Tyler and his wife, Shelby, have adopted two daughters through the foster-to-adopt program and are currently fostering a third child.

Club Announcements

• Quarantine Photos – President Melanie is soliciting pictures of what our members have been doing to flourish during the quarantine. Send them to Matthew Grizzle for display at our next virtual meeting!  For example,

  When we resume regular meetings…

• Use That Credit Card at The Meeting – You may now pay for lunch, raffle tickets (minimum Credit Card Purchase of $5.00) and other purchase at the Club meetings with a credit Card.
• Potential Members – To encourage Club members to bring a potential member to the Wednesday meetings the Rotary Club of Stockton will pay for the 1st meal of a potential member brought by a Club member.

Recognitions

• $55.20 – Bob & Kris Blower: Past-President Bob Blower and Kris Blower donated $55.20 after pictures of their latest boat parade celebrating Cinco de Mayo on Lake Lincoln made the front page of The Record.  Nice to see at least one article in the paper that wasn’t totally focused on the pandemic!
• $55.20 – Gary Putnam: For his picture in the paper for outdoor dinner-party.  Past-President Gary Putnam donated $55.20 pictures that appeared in The Record of their outdoor dinner party.  The growing reputation of comradery on their street is increasing demand and pushing up housing prices.
• $55.20 – Mike from the Lodi Rotary Club donated $50 as a thank you for the invitation to join our Zoom Rotary meeting.

Jamie Bossuat, a shareholder with Kroloff, Belcher, Smart, Perry & Christopherson, has spent her career practicing employment law and business litigation.  In her employment practice she provides advice and representation to employers and human resources professionals in all areas of employment law ranging from leaves of absence to discrimination and harassment to wage and hour.  She provides a range of services including policy development and review, advice on employee complaints and concerns, employee training including sexual harassment training, investigations, and representation in administrative proceedings and civil actions through trial.  She offers regular presentations on a variety of employment law topics for lawyers, human resources professionals, and employers.
