Lynndee Riley announced that Doris Lease, widow of Pat Lease and mother of Gayle (Lease) Riley who are both former club members passed on Sunday morning. Doris loved her family, their travels all over the world and remodeling projects. She spent the last few years enjoying her retirement home in Pacific Grove. Doris had celebrated her 92nd birthday in January. Lynndee donated $92 to the SRE Susan Drake Scholarship Fund in her memory.
Sharon Tweedy brought the Stockton City Council’s “traveling” proclamation of an official recognition for Rotary Read-In Day and President Melanie showed it off & made it available for selfies before it heads to the next Rotary Club. Don’t forget: Stockton Rotary Read-In will be Thursday, February 27th and will be the 29th year of this event! Volunteer to read to a classroom and have a fun time! North Stockton Rotary After Hours – Come mix and mingle with Rotarians from Stockton on the last Tuesday of each month at the “AVE On The Mile” located @ 2333 Pacific Avenue, Stockton ( map ) from 5:30pm –7:30pm. See what’s happening Tuesday, February 25th.
Hero’s Night – Annual Fundraiser – The club will be dark on Wednesday, March 25th so don’t forget to save the date for Heroes night on Friday, March 27th at the Stockton Golf & Country Club. President Melanie announced Jamie Nance will be the Master of Ceremonies and will choose the “Jamie Nance Award” recipient and announce his choice at the event. Everyone (except Tom Patti who will be in London teaching a Cus D’Amato boxing clinic) will be there to recognize our local heroes and raise critical funds for club operations. Committee meets next Wednesday at 5 pm at Omar’s Office, 2111 West March Lane Suite B100, Stockton, CA 95207 (map ) NOTE: The 27th will be considered a REGULAR MEETING replacing the 25th.
Rotary Area 2 Speech Contest – The Rotary Area 2 Speech Contest is being held on Tuesday, February 18th, at Brookside Golf and Country Club – Diablo Room at noon ( map ). All are welcome. 2020 District Conference – Don’t forget: The conference will be on April 24-26, 2020 at the Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite ( website ). The rooms will be $192 per day including taxes.
Rotary International Convention – The convention will be from June 6th to June 10th of 2020 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Past-President Bob Blower reminds us all that the Rotary Convention is only 4 days. There are so many things to do on the islands, plan to stay for a couple of weeks!
Use That Credit Card at The Meeting – You may now pay for lunch, raffle tickets (minimum Credit Card Purchase of $5.00) and other purchase at the Club meetings with a credit Card.
Potential Members – To encourage Club members to bring a potential member to the Wednesday meetings the Rotary Club of Stockton will pay for the 1st meal of a potential member brought by a Club member.

Cathy Wooton introduced Gary Armagnac, Professional Actor and instructor of Motion Capture in University of the Pacific’s Media-X program. Gary shared stories of love of many kinds as seen through the lens of his years of experiences in the worlds of acting and educating.

Colleen was born at Ellsworth Airforce Base in Rapid City, South Dakota to an Oglala Lakota Woman and Caucasian Airforce Airman. She is the 7th Generational Granddaughter of Chief Red Cloud of the Oglala Sioux Nation and moved in Stockton, CA before attending school. She was educated in Stockton and attended college at Sacramento State.
Colleen works at Golden Empire Mortgage also known as GEM Mortgage as a Branch Manager and Real Estate Loan Originator and has been in Real Estate lending for almost 34 years. She loves assisting buyers with their financing needs and feels this is a Nobel and rewarding career.
She lives in Lodi with her husband, Jim. She is the Mother of two daughters, Corie Elizabeth and Kimberlee Ann and the grandmother of grandson, Lexon Cole and granddaughter, Skylar Jameson.
She serves as Treasurer of the Community Foundation of San Joaquin and as Vice Chair of Lodi Community Foundation. She is currently on the Board of Directors, serving as Director of Community Services for Stockton Rotary Club. Colleen serves on the Community Philanthropy Summit Committee and has been the Co-Chair of the “Stocktonian of Year” for the past 29 years.
She loves to travel, read, and is fascinated with history and is proud of her Native American Indian Heritage and visits her home State of South Dakota at least every other year.
