New Generations

Rotary’s programs for students and youth can change the lives of those who participate. Through these programs, young people can earn scholarships, travel on cultural exchanges, or help our community through a service project. Scholarships
25 Rotarians Community Service Scholarship – This scholarship is offered to graduating seniors from any Stockton High School. It is funded through the investment proceeds of Community Service Scholarship component of the Stockton Rotary Endowment.

Students submit applications to the counseling department/scholarship advisor of each school and each school can submit two candidates to Stockton Rotary. Candidates will be judged on their general character, high ethical standards and their community service record throughout their high school years.

 

Process of application:

  • Completion of Rotary Club of Stockton Scholarship Application.
  • Submission of a written essay (500 word maximum) that must include an explanation of applicant’s community service experience, academic and career objectives, and abilities/interests that will serve him/her in achieving these goals.
  • Submission of both application and essay to high school scholarship guidance counselor/advisor.
  • Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average or better on a 4.0 scale, verified by his/her current transcript.
  • This award is made without regard to financial need.

Each school must submit no more than two candidates by the date set by the scholarship committee to:

The Frank Thornton Smith Music Scholarship

Frank Thornton Smith Music Scholarship is awarded each to promising music students graduating from a Stockton high school who are planning to attend San Joaquin Delta College or a four-year college or university majoring in music. Delta College students transferring to a four-year accredited college or university majoring in music are also eligible for the award. It is funded through Frank Thornton Smith Music Scholarship component of the Stockton Rotary Endowment.

 

Process of application:

  • Completion of the Frank Thornton Smith Application for Music Scholarship Audition.
  • Submission of a written essay (500 word maximum) on his/her career objectives, love of music or some other musical topic that will share some of the student’s passion for music.
  • Submission of two letters of reference (see application for details).
  • Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average or better on a 4.0 scale, verified by his/her current transcript.

Each applicant must submit his/her packet by the date set by the scholarship committee to:
