The Wheel – June 27, 2018

Special Edition

Well, a whole lot of work by the Kick-Out Committee and preparation went into this incredibly festive yearly Stockton Rotary Club tradition.  President Ann endured all the jesting and enjoyed the members who portrayed various characters who reminded her of your Rotary year.  Read below to find out what a grand time everyone had and be sure to view the pictures that were taken of this fun event!

Be sure to join us in two weeks (July 11th) for the introduction of incoming President Waqar Rizvi!

Activities

  • Call to Order and Welcome! President Ann, in one of her official final acts, welcomed members and guests and asked everyone to greet one another to enjoy the camaraderie of Rotary!
  • Pledge of Allegiance & 4-Way Test – Steve Luthy to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and the Rotary 4-Way Test.  Then…

Roseanne Barr (Fred Weibel) showed up and took over the meeting.

Robert Bly (Past-President Gary Putnam) shared his poetry and acted as Master of Ceremonies for the estrogen infused event. Robert bemoaned the “good old days” in Rotary when the wives of Rotarians were called Rotary Anns, not President Ann.

Robert announced the formation of NORM, National Organization of Rotary Men, to plead for a continuing seat at the Rotary tables.

Roseanne Barr threatened to start a tweet-storm.

Martha Washington (Past-President Bob Blower) chastised President Ann for not knowing her place as a woman and for portraying her husband, the father of our country as a loser every week that a quarter was pulled for the raffle.

Susan B. Anthony (Corie Stewart) was President Ann’s biggest supporter even with her mention of the cheap candy in the gift mugs.

Sacagawea (Colleen Stewart) was miffed that her gold coin was not chosen as the winning raffle coin.

Barbara Bush (Judy Chambers) brought the message from Past Rotary International President, Stan McCaffrey, Ron & Nancy Reagan and Shirley Temple that keeping the trains on time cannot be done at all costs and warned President Ann to be more liberal with time and less liberal with politics.

Hillary Clinton (Past-President T.J. Hull) commiserated with President Ann about losing elections to egotistical buffoons and recounted the tribulations of funding foundations.

The Duchess of Sussex (Angel Sepulveda) was troubled to hear of some royal gourmet faux pas – $20 hotdogs and Valentine Beans, as well as a protocol violation in failing to wear her tiara with all of the other tiara-donning Presidents at the Thanksgiving Luncheon

Sea Star (Past-President Michael Blower) showed up to say he’s frickin’ sick of the Sea Star Story. A humorous video was provided to show the never ending plight of the poor starfish.

Ringo Starr (Kerry kruger)and his two Drummers of Norm (Brian Lafferty & Raul Chavez) assembled to conduct a traditional drumming circle and to vote on President Ann’s fate.

Harley Smith (Dave Tygett) tallied the three votes and found it to be a draw.

Queen Elizabeth gave President Ann a Royal dressing down, pulled her passport privileges to the U.K., and declared an end to her reign as President of the Rotary Club of Stockton.

Past-President Kuy Ky forgot to invite President-Elect Waqar Risvi to the meeting for his promotional, so Waqar went to Canada for the Rotary Convention instead. Waqar will be taken into custody at the border and promoted prior to release

President Ann promoted President-Delegate Melanie Vieux to President Elect. The ringing of church bells and town criers passed the word to the rest of the village that President Ann is now Past… …. Past-President Ann that is and living happily ever after. – THE END
