Boots Bales and BBQ fundraiser – Rich Good reminded us that there are only 10 more days to the event. Volunteers are needed for setup before the event and cleanup afterward. Bob Blower brought teaching aids, a branding iron and a 140 lb. leg, to emphasize his request for more auction items. Please check below for more information about the BBQ.
Membership Mixer – TJ Hull anounced that on September 23, Terry Hull and his family will be hosting a membership mixer at their home at 3847 Portsmouth Point, at 5:30. Please come and bring someone who is new to Rotary. Enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and a ride on the Blower Cruiser.

Pakistan Relief Effort – Cathy Peterson presented the need for clean potable water in Pakistan explaining that $125 will provide drinking water and supplies for four people for over six months through the Aquabox. The membership donated $2,750 during the meeting for this excellent cause. You may wish to visit the website for more information about the Aquabox. www.aquabox.org . Donations are still desired. Peace Award – Duane Isetti, for $25, promoted the up coming Mediation Center of San Joaquin and UOP School of International Studies, Peacemaker of the Year Awards where Dr Joe Serra will be recognized as one of two 2010 Peace Makers of the Year. Kids in a Box – President Nick thanked everyone who helped transport the 50 Edison High students to Escalon for the fundraiser for the Haven of Peace Women s Shelter. They were Susan and Dudley Drake, Dennis Cochran, Graham Tweedy, Catey Campora, Dave Tygett and Nick’s wife Pam. Vehicles from the Hanot Foundation and the Commons on Thornton were used. Standby drivers were Hal Monroe and John Litz.
Meeting Location Change – On September 22 we will meet at Brookside Country Club and on September 29 we will meet at St. Joseph s new Medical Center Building.

Stockton Rotary Centennial – the date is Feb 1, 2014. We wish to make this a celebratory series of events to share a century of service with the greater Stockton community. The committee has chosen five areas of focus. They are Projects, Events, Book, History and Publicity. Grocery Card Fundraiser Our new card has the Rotary logo and name on them. Grocery rebate cards are available at the meetings. The Club will receive a rebate of 3% of purchases at SaveMart, Smart Foods, Food Max, and Lucky s. The card may also be used when purchasing pharmaceuticals.
