Susan Palmeri-Manager of the Stockton Airport

“State of the Aviation Industry-An Industry in Transistion”

Susan gave us an overview of recent and current factors affecting the national as well as local aviation industry. In 2008 fuel costs was the major component in the closure of 38 airports. In 2009 decreased travel demand led to airlines decreasing capacity. The year 2010 shows mixed signals of slow growth.

Locally, the Stockton Airport, which is owned and operated by San Joaquin County, is ramping up with 9 flights weekly to Las Vegas, 5 flights weekly to Long Beach and coming soon to Hawaii.

Susan Palmeri was introduced by Bill Gass.
