Susan Drake – District Gvoernor of 5220
“District Governor’s Report”
Susan Drake, our own club secretary eloquently stated the profound experience that is Rotary. She was born into Rotary having a Rotarian grandfather, father.
She recalled some of the many ways that service to others through Rotary activities has shaped her life. She has learned first hand of the international impact Rotary has through many projects including her own Interact club project bringing playground equipment to communities in Mexico, now in its 14th year.
Susan imparted the message that our current Rotary International President advocates, The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands . While there are over 33,000 clubs in 200 countries with over 1.2 million members, it is in the daily activities of each Rotarian that the work of Rotary gets done.
Susan made some suggestions for our club. We need to focus on recruitment and retention and let the world know what Rotarians do. We need to rise to the challenge to eradicate Polio.
Susan was presented with a special Rotary Blue kayak paddle.
Susan Drake was introduced by Michael Blower.
You may wish to review Susan Drake’s full presentation.
