The Wheel editor suggests that persons email their announcements to gtweedy@dgtinternetmarketing.com prior to publication of the weekly edition. This will make sure that we present your information the way you wish and not our sometimes mangled interpretation of your verbal presentation.
Robert Paoletti’s Blog Page – Robert, a member of our club, is on leave from the Stockton Police Department for a term of duty in Iraq. He will be training Iraqi police. Robert will be reporting on his activities. Please visit his page. You are encouraged to comment on his reports and thus keep in touch with him while he is absent from our club. We will alert you when Robert sends us new information.
Facebook – Gary Hansen – Stockton Rotary is now on Facebook. Check out our new page by going to facebook.com and search for “Rotary Club of Stockton”. Of course do not use the quotation marks. We intend to evolve this as you use it. Who knows where it goes but it is one more avenue for Rotarians to keep in touch and up to date on what is going on.
Annual Fund Raiser – Cathy Dodson gave us a brief presentation of the annual fundraiser event. The date is October 10th at Borra Winery in Lodi and the theme is Boots, Bales and Barbeque; $50 per person. We need a large turnout and still need auction items. If you cannot make it to the event please consider buying tickets for friends and associates.
Foundation Dinner will be held on October 24, 2009 in Tracy. Distribution of envelopes with raffle tickets, counting toward a Paul Harris Fellowhip, are available at our meetings. Live entertainment and PRIP Rick King, will be our speaker. Make sure to turn in your raffle tickets. President Michael encouraged us to support our DG Susan Drake with our presence. Makeups – Please make sure to report any makeups to Hal Monroe to make sure you are getting credit for attendance. You may also record your makeups by going to our website. Hal gave us instructions in his email.
The Swiss were Here – President Michael gave a thank you to Blain Bibb and all the folks who helped with the visitors from the Swiss Rotary exchange.
Stockton Thunder – Kris Blower – save the date for an all Rotary Clubs night with the Stockton Thunder on November 15th. Game time is 4pm with a social starting at 2:30 for family, friends, Interacters and Rotaracters. Cost is $10 or $15. Signup online or at the club.
Old Wheels – President Michael thanked Harry Hedburg for the senior Rotary wheel, and he made a request that if you have any old rotary information especially Rotary Wheels he would like to have them.
Grocery Card Fundraiser Grocery rebate cards are available at the meetings. The Club will receive a rebate of 3% of purchases at SaveMart, Smart Foods, Food Max, and Lucky s.
District Conference 2010 – It is not too early to plan for next year’s conference which will be hosted by our DG Susan Drake and held at entrancing South Lake Tahoe. They have created some incentives to help us make a decision. We suggest you don’t miss out. Coming soon a video starring Kayaker Susan and Chef Dudley.
