Next Week’s Program – September 16, 2009

The Future of Newspapers
– Ron Agostini is 58 and has been employed at the Modesto Bee for 32 years. I live in Ripon with my wife Laura and 11-year-old daughter Shelley. I was raised in Manteca and graduated from East Union High, San Joaquin Delta (played for the Delta golf team) and Fresno State.

I ve won many national, regional and state-wide awards for my writing over the years. In March of 2008, a column I wrote in 1993 was published in the book First Sunday In April, a compilation of writing about the Masters over the last 50 years. A specialty is golf writing and I still do a weekly golf column for The Bee. I ve covered the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am for 30 years. For a complete bio click here.

Mr Vera related many experiences during his career in the FBI. His stories gave us a window into the culture and operation of the institution.

The modern FBI has changed from an organization that often responded to the personal whims of its’ leader, J. Edgar Hoover, to a more reserved operation.

The FBI looks for more mature individuals coming from different backgrounds and training to join their ranks.
