Hoang Nguyen and Valerie Maurer – UOP Doctor of Physical Therapy Students
Wheelchairs for the World
Soon to be Doctors Hoang Nguyen and Valerie Maurer spoke on “Wheelchairs for the Third World” and detailed their experiences visiting six cities with 20 other volunteers in Guatemala.
They gained valuable experience working with disabled people and fitting wheelchairs so that they did not produce pressure points. They explained why this Rotary project was a rewarding experience customizing wheelchairs as they gained valuable experience putting their expertise to work while reaching out to 232 needy others.

Leadership Conference
Charles Munoz and Rotaractor, Alexander Tu, announced on Saturday January 17th that UOP Rotaract is conducting a leadership conference and would like as many Rotarians as possible to drop by between 8-4.

Rotary Read-In
Gary Frush and Dr. Serra split the announcement about our Rotary Read-In this year on February 11th between 10:00 a.m. and 11a.m. They suggested that we could provide a book and read or buy a book and donate it. There will be a display and sales of age appropriate books at our meeting on January 28th. We need 100 more readers to sign up.
